Accessibility Statement
Last updated: August 13, 2026
Que Pasa Mexican Cafe is committed to making our website — and every one of our four California restaurants — accessible to everyone. We believe that authentic Mexican food and warm hospitality should be available to every guest, and that our website should reflect the same welcome.
Our commitment
We work to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are the internationally recognized standards published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) for making web content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people with a wide range of abilities.
What we've done
To make this site as usable as possible for everyone, we have:
- Written descriptive alternative text for every meaningful image on the site.
- Structured every page with proper headings so screen readers can navigate content efficiently.
- Ensured every interactive control (buttons, links, forms) can be reached and operated using a keyboard alone, without a mouse.
- Chosen a color palette with sufficient contrast between text and background at typical body sizes.
- Added a “Skip to content” link at the top of every page so screen-reader and keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
- Provided a full-page mobile menu with clear labels and a visible close control.
- Marked our dropdown menus and modal dialogs with the appropriate ARIA roles and states.
- Set our animations to respect the operating system's prefers-reduced-motion setting — if you've asked your device to reduce motion, we won't animate.
- Made sure every form field has a visible label, and that focus states are clearly visible.
- Provided phone numbers as clickable tel: links so users on mobile can dial with one tap.
What's still in progress
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We know there is always more to do, and we are actively working to improve. Areas we are actively reviewing include:
- Continuously testing new pages with screen readers before publication.
- Expanding descriptive text on decorative food photography where useful context can be added.
- Reviewing color contrast on lower-priority marketing sections.
In our restaurants
Our physical restaurants are designed to welcome guests of all abilities. All four locations offer:
- Step-free entrances and accessible seating.
- ADA-compliant restrooms.
- Accessible parking spaces directly in front of each restaurant.
- Menus available in large-print format upon request — just ask your server.
- Staff trained to accommodate guests with food allergies, dietary restrictions, and accessibility needs. If we can do something to make your visit easier, please let us know.
Assistive technology
This site is designed to work with the current major screen readers (including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack on Android) and with the latest versions of common web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge). We test regularly and address issues as they are reported.
Let us know how we can do better
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website, in one of our restaurants, or with any of our services, we want to hear about it. Your feedback helps us improve for everyone.
How to reach us:
- Message us through the website — use the contact form and mention "Accessibility" in your message. We'll respond promptly.
- Call any of our four restaurants directly — see all locations for phone numbers.
- Visit in person — any manager is happy to help.
When you contact us, please tell us:
- The page or feature you were using (a URL is very helpful).
- What you were trying to do.
- What went wrong.
- The device, browser, or assistive technology you were using.
Formal complaints
We aim to resolve accessibility concerns quickly and directly. If, after contacting us, you feel your concern has not been adequately addressed, you have the right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, at ada.gov.
Third-party content
Some content on our site is provided by third parties — for example, embedded Google Maps and our online ordering platform. While we choose partners that also value accessibility, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of every third-party feature. If you experience a barrier with any third-party content on our site, please let us know and we will do our best to help or provide an alternative.
Continuous improvement
This statement was last reviewed on August 13, 2026. As our site and our business evolve, we will keep this page current and continue to work toward a fully inclusive experience.
Thank you for helping us make Que Pasa Mexican Cafe a place where everyone feels welcome.
