The Fresno Restaurant

Central Valley Mexican, done the way it should be.

Our Fresno restaurant sits inside Campus Pointe, just off Highway 168 and a short drive from Fresno State's Bulldog Stadium. We opened here because Fresno already knew the difference between real Mexican food and the frozen kind — we just wanted to show up and cook to that standard.

You'll spot us by the smell before you see the sign: onions and peppers on the plancha, garlic in the pan, cilantro being chopped by the handful. Every morning at 10 AM, our kitchen starts breaking down whole avocados for the day's guacamole and roasting tomatillos for the salsa verde. By 11 sharp, the doors open.

Why Fresno keeps coming back

Fresno is a food city. It has been for decades. Our regulars are teachers grabbing lunch between class periods at Fresno State, Bulldog fans meeting up before kickoff, families celebrating birthdays around the corner booth, and the same construction crew that's been sitting at the same table every Friday for eight years. They don't come for gimmicks — they come because the carne asada actually tastes like carne asada and the margarita is the size their friend told them it would be.

What to try first

If it's your first visit, order the Carne Asada Fajitas. They arrive sizzling loud enough that the whole dining room turns to look. Add a frozen Cadillac margarita, and don't skip the tableside guacamole — smashed to your spice level, right in front of you.
